First Visit

Your History

Nobody likes to fill out paperwork. In our office one of our professional Chiropractic Assistants will take the history of your health and current condition. This information provides us with background which will help us to determine whether chiropractic care is right for you. While the assistant discusses the details of your history with the doctor, you will be invited to watch a brief video to orient you to chiropractic.

Spinal Scan

Once the doctor has reviewed your history and determined if your case could benefit from chiropractic care, the Chiropractic Assistant will perform computerized spinal scans. The scans assess the muscle and nerve function of the spine and will help the doctor to determine the cause of your problems.

Consultation

Once your history and scans have been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition.

Examination

Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-ray Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. X-rays are taken at BGSA Radiology. This is a walk-in service and you can have x-rays taken and be back at our clinic for care within about 45 min. We have direct access to the x-rays and your doctor can evaluate them immediately.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment on the same day. This may include first aid, physical therapy, therapeutic massage, low level laser and/or spinal adjustment.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

First Visit Fees

If, following the History and Consultation, the doctor believes that yours is not a chiropractic case or that our office will be unable to help you, there will be no charge to you. If your case will benefit from chiropractic care and you decide to proceed with care at our office. The fees for scans, examination and first adjustment are payable at the time of service. X-rays, if taken, are billed through BGSA Radiology.
